Ingredients

  • 12 oz salmon fillets, skinless and boneless
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and cut into evenly sized 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. Add the salmon cubes to the marinade and gently toss to coat. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Lightly grease the air fryer basket and arrange salmon in a single layer without overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 5–8 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  7. After flipping, brush the salmon with remaining marinade and continue cooking.
  8. Check that salmon is opaque and flakes easily or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Use tamari for a gluten-free option. Maple syrup or agave can replace honey. Do not marinate longer than 30 minutes, as the acid can break down the salmon. Frozen salmon works well if fully thawed and patted dry.
