Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners and lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, beat the cake mix and soda for about 90 seconds. Divide the batter into three portions, coloring one red, one green, and leaving one white.
- Fill each muffin cup two-thirds full with a tablespoon of each colored batter. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove them and let cool completely before frosting.

For extra festive flair, decorate cooled cupcakes with your favorite Christmas-themed frosting and sprinkles.
