  • 250g green beans trimmed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or butter!
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves finely minced (~ 2 tsp)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Bring salted water to a boil, add green beans, and cook for 4 minutes until bright green. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool, then shake off excess water.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the blanched green beans and minced garlic, then toss for 2 minutes until the garlic is golden and crispy. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer the sautéed green beans to a serving dish and serve warm.

Notes

For optimal flavor, use fresh garlic cloves and mince them finely; avoid jarred garlic or a garlic crusher. You can blanch the beans ahead of time, cool, dry, and store them in the fridge, then simply toss with garlic when ready to serve.
