Ingredients

  • 1 orange (zest and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 16 oz red seedless grapes, halved
  • 12 oz fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 large sweet apples, cubed (e.g., Honeycrisp or Fuji)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Citrus zester and juicer
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Zest the orange into a large mixing bowl, then juice it into the same bowl.
  2. Add maple syrup and ground cinnamon to the bowl and whisk until smooth.
  3. Add halved grapes, blackberries, and chopped pecans to the dressing and set aside.
  4. Cube apples into bite-sized pieces and add them immediately to the bowl.
  5. Gently toss all ingredients until the fruit is evenly coated in the dressing.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate covered until ready to serve.

Notes

Use fresh, in-season fruit for best flavor. To prevent browning, add apples immediately to the citrus dressing. You can toast the pecans beforehand for extra flavor. For nut-free, use pumpkin seeds instead of pecans.
