Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil divided
  • 4 (6-oz.) salmon fillets patted dry with paper towels
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced into rounds

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • whisk
  • large skillet
  • paper towels

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes to create the glaze.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then cook skin-side up for about 2 minutes until seared.
  3. Flip the salmon skin-side down, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and minced garlic, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the honey mixture and lemon slices, then baste the salmon while cooking for about 3 more minutes until the sauce reduces by one-third.

Notes

Ensure salmon is patted dry for a crispier sear. Be careful not to overcook the salmon to keep it moist and flaky. Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
