Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter (115 grams), sliced into pieces
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (400 grams)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (20 grams)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (125 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats (300 grams)

Equipment

  • large saucepan
  • large baking sheets
  • parchment paper
  • cookie scoop
  • timer

Method

Steps
  1. Gather and measure all ingredients. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder in a large saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until melted and combined. Bring to a rolling boil for 60 seconds, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat, then stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until fully combined. Stir in oats until all are coated with the mixture.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Allow to cool for 20 to 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure to set a timer for the 60-second boil to achieve the correct consistency. Using a cookie scoop helps create uniformly sized cookies.
