Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Air Fryer Any model will work.
  • Large mixing bowl For seasoning fries.
  • Vegetable peeler For peeling sweet potatoes.
  • Chef's knife For uniform slicing.

Method

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and rinse under cold water. Pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Slice sweet potatoes into 1/4-inch thick sticks, keeping cuts uniform for even cooking.
  3. Add fries to a mixing bowl. Toss with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper until fully coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd. Cook in batches if needed.
  6. Air fry for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Cook an additional 2–4 minutes for extra crispness, if desired.
  7. Remove fries from the basket and serve hot. Repeat with any remaining fries.

Notes

For crispier fries, slice sweet potatoes evenly and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. You can soak the fries for 30 minutes to reduce starch for extra crispness, but it's optional. Try different spice blends like cinnamon-sugar for a sweet twist or cayenne for spice.
