Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, American, or provolone)
  • burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles)
  • condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise)

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or burger flipper
  • Instant read meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty.
  4. Place patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Cook for 6 minutes.
  6. Flip the patties carefully and continue cooking for 3 more minutes.
  7. Add a slice of cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking, if desired.
  8. Remove patties from the air fryer and let rest for 2–3 minutes.
  9. Assemble burgers with buns, toppings, and condiments. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use 80/20 ground beef to maintain juiciness. Avoid overmixing the meat, as this can make burgers dense. You can swap cheeses, use gluten-free buns, or serve in lettuce wraps if desired.
