  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 sirloin steaks (1 inch thick, about 1 1/2 lbs total)
  • olive oil spray

Equipment

  • Air fryer (basket style)
  • Tongs
  • Instant read meat thermometer
  • small mixing bowl
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Pat the sirloin steaks completely dry with paper towels to remove surface moisture.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, sweet paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  3. Lightly spray both sides of each steak with olive oil.
  4. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the steaks.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry for 5–6 minutes.
  8. Flip the steaks using tongs.
  9. Continue cooking for another 5–6 minutes until desired doneness is reached.
  10. Check internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer.
  11. Transfer steaks to a cutting board and tent loosely with foil.
  12. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
  13. Slice against the grain and serve immediately.

Notes

Sirloin works beautifully, but ribeye or New York strip can also be used. Adjust cooking time based on thickness. Swap sweet paprika for smoked paprika, or add onion powder or dried thyme for extra flavor. Always pat steaks dry before seasoning for best sear.
